Meditation for ChangeThe mission of Meditation for Change is simple: bring people together to meditate collectively and shift our energy and the energy of everyone around us to promote change in the world.
The idea for the Meditation for Change (MFC) initiative came to me in the spring of 2008 after an evening meditation. Although the concept involved the date 08.08.08, a date chosen for its uniqueness as a tri-numeral date, I did not immediately pursue the idea. In the summer of 2009, once again after meditating, the idea returned and I knew this time I had to make it happen. So I set my intentions for 09.09.09. I spent time brainstorming on how to orchestrate the first MFC event. With a sound awareness that I had a good plan mapped out, I shared this vision with my husband and my friends. With their support there was only one thing remaining...the perfect location. I reached out to Sarah Faircloth and asked if we could use the Sangati studio in Charlotte, NC and she readily offered the space. At this point I knew there was no turning back, and with the help of some close friends, we chose the name and developed the path for the 09.09.09 event. The MFC vision has been to grow the gathering by holding special events on 10.10.10, 11.11.11 and 12.12.12. Each year the event has grown across the globe as together we expand the tapestry of consciousness into even more beauty by joining with our hearts set on the same intention to meditate for change. The 2012 goal is to have meditations around the world so that people are meditating for MFC throughout the day. Meditation for Change. The energy created will be felt everywhere. |
